HEATING & COOLING - UNTAPPED RESOURCES
Heat represents about half the energy consumed in the UK. About 70% of this currently comes from gas. Peak heat demand is about 300GW in the UK (~5x current electricity demand). Electrification is a major component of current decarbonisation plans, coping with demand peaks and ramping will be challenging.
Exploding Cooling Demand
Globally demand for air conditioning and refrigeration is growing exponentially. Cooling needs are met almost exclusively by electricity and air conditioning is a recognised major contributor to demand peaks around the word.
What We Do
We work with equipment manufacturers to develop site level load management and control strategies that combine energy cost reduction with improved robustness and performance.
